Labels are much more complex than most people realize. That’s why we created this guide to help you understand all of the verbiage!
⅛” Gap: There’s a ⅛” gap between each label on the roll.
1” Core: Label rolls come in a two main sizes, a 1” and a 3” core.
6” Label Height: Labels found on a 1” core have a 6” label height.
4” Label Width: Similarly, they have a 4” label width.
4” Outer Diameter: The outer diameter describes the entire diameter of the label roll. Some diameters are too large for desktop label printers. Be sure to check your printer’s diameter requirements before ordering labels.
4-⅛” Carrier: The carrier is the waxy-feeling paper that holds the label on. This size is dependant on the label size, as it needs to have enough space to peel off easily; as the label size varies, so does the carrier size.
