Most people assume that labels are fairly simple; there aren’t many important pieces or complex procedures. However, there are a few key differences between all of the thermal printing labels!
One difference we will discuss in this blog post is the core size of labels. There are typically two main sizes of thermal label rolls, a 1″and a 3″ core. A core is the brown center which the labels are wrapped around.
In addition to the core size, there is also the size of the outer diameter. This includes both the core and the labels themselves. With a 1″ core size, the outer diameter could be a varying range of sizes but will not exceed 4″ max. In addition, for a 3″ core size, the range is 8″ max and under.
Lastly, these sizes only apply to thermal label rolls – sheeted and fan fold labels, which we will discuss later on, don’t have core sizes.
Lots of specifications all connected to a simple roll of labels! Who would’ve known, right? Stay tuned for more information, tips and tricks about labels!
